Badanie to skupia się na raku u kobiet z dwóch perspektyw: perspektywy pielęgniarek z CAISM - UNICAMP oraz perspektywy hospitalizowanych pacjentek. W tym sensie szerszym celem niniejszego projektu jest zrozumienie doświadczeń pacjentek, ich uczuć i myśli oraz ich relacji z pielęgniarkami, które są ich głównymi opiekunkami w procesie zmagania się z chorobą. Wyniki pokazują, że pomimo tego, iż badanie zostało przeprowadzone w doskonałym szpitalu, będącym często centrum referencyjnym w leczeniu nowotworów kobiecych, mechanistyczne podejście do choroby i leczenia nadal dominuje. Dane wskazują, że aspekty te powodują niezadowolenie zarówno wśród pacjentek, jak i pracowników służby zdrowia. Niniejsze badanie ma na celu pobudzenie dyskusji i refleksji w tym zakresie, dążąc do humanizacji opieki.
