Rak piersi jest główną przyczyną śmiertelności wśród kobiet w Brazylii. Jej leczenie wywołuje szereg skutków, a fizykoterapia zapobiega i leczy ewentualne powikłania po mastektomii. Wirtualna rzeczywistość (VR) jest nowym środkiem, który sprawia, że terapia staje się zabawna, dynamiczna i motywująca. Celem pracy było sprawdzenie efektów rehabilitacji z wykorzystaniem VR u pacjentek po mastektomii. Dokonano przeglądu systematycznego z wykorzystaniem następujących deskryptorów zdrowia: mastektomia, wirtualna rzeczywistość i rehabilitacja, w bazach danych: PubMed, Web of Scien-ce, LILACS i SciELO. Uwzględniono artykuły opublikowane w okresie od 2006 do 2016 roku, łącznie 118 publikacji. Wykluczono artykuły, w których użyto terminów: wykrywanie raka piersi, rak piersi u mężczyzn, mastektomia profilaktyczna, przeglądy literatury oraz prace dotyczące technik operacyjnych, pozostawiając w próbie 38 artykułów. Stwierdza się zatem, że obecne VR w rehabilitacji pacjentek po mastektomii poprawia zakres ruchu, siłę mięśniową i ból.
