L’alopecia indotta dalla chemioterapia è uno degli aspetti più dolorosi del trattamento del cancro. Dall’introduzione del metodo di raffreddamento del cuoio capelluto, si è registrata una significativa riduzione della perdita di capelli associata alla chemioterapia antitumorale. Questo studio valuta l’efficacia della tecnica di raffreddamento del cuoio capelluto utilizzando il dispositivo Paxman Scalp Cooler nella prevenzione dell’alopecia indotta dalla chemioterapia. Circa il 70% dei pazienti ha mostrato risultati positivi utilizzando il dispositivo Paxman Scalp Cooler. È stato inoltre riscontrato che i farmaci del gruppo dei taxani hanno mostrato i maggiori benefici.
