Le Royaume-Uni compte plus de 4,6 millions de personnes appartenant à des minorités ethniques, dont un quart de million âgées de 60 ans ou plus. Cette étude porte sur ce que signifie vieillir en bonne santé pour les personnes âgées qui ont émigré au Royaume-Uni. La question de recherche est la suivante: comment les personnes âgées définissent-elles elles-mêmes vieillir confortablement et en bonne santé? Les données sont complétées par des entretiens semi-structurés et les résultats de notre étude sont présentés dans cette recherche. À notre avis, le gouvernement devrait lancer davantage de programmes visant à promouvoir le vieillissement en bonne santé et à réduire la solitude grâce à des liens sociaux, et des fonds suffisants devraient être réservés à cette fin.
