A diabetes tipo 1 (DMT1) é uma doença crónica que ocorre na infância ou na adolescência. O seu diagnóstico perturba a vida dos pais. Os objetivos deste estudo foram avaliar o seu impacto na qualidade de vida (QdV) dos pais e estudar os fatores que a podem influenciar. Métodos: Estudo transversal realizado entre maio de 2019 e dezembro de 2020 que incluiu 50 pais de adolescentes com DM1 acompanhados no ambulatório ou internados no Instituto Nacional de Nutrição e Tecnologia de Alimentos Zohaier Kallel. Foram coletados os dados sociodemográficos e médicos dos pais e pacientes. Para avaliar a qualidade de vida dos pais, utilizámos o Peds QL2.0: o módulo de impacto familiar na sua versão árabe validada. Resultados: A nossa população era constituída por 45 mães e 5 pais. Incluímos 27 raparigas e 23 rapazes com uma idade média de 16,12 ±1,63 anos. A pontuação média global de QVRS foi de 56,42 ±23,48%. A pontuação média mais baixa foi para a ansiedade: 45,50±27,96%, seguida do funcionamento parental: 54,53±25,91% do funcionamento familiar.
