A água subterrânea é considerada boa, no entanto, se existirem fontes de contaminação na zona, esta água tal como a proveniente de nascentes ou poços será contaminada por diferentes tipos de poluentes que podem ser químicos ou biológicos. Surge também um aumento da procura que resulta do crescimento demográfico, da melhoria das condições de vida, da exploração de águas de nascente, do desenvolvimento de várias indústrias e da extensão da irrigação. Este livro, portanto, apresenta a análise hidrobiológica das fontes de água da região de Rabat, em Marrocos, com o objetivo de evidenciar uma avaliação da qualidade físico-química, metálica e bacteriológica das águas de nascente desta zona. Parte desta obra é dedicada ao acompanhamento da qualidade das águas de nascente (parâmetros físico-químicos, metálicos e bacteriológicos) e outra parte dedicada às actividades antrópicas e aos factores que podem deteriorar estes recursos hídricos. Os vários métodos utilizados neste trabalho devem ajudar a esclarecer este tipo de avaliação da água e devem ser particularmente úteis para os profissionais da exploração de águas de nascente ou outras pessoas que estudam o impacto do ambiente na qualidade da água de nascente.
