Les purpuras vasculaires (PV) constituent un groupe de lésions cutanées élémentaires traduisant une extravasation des globules rouges dans le derme, suite à une lésion de la paroi vasculaire. Le diagnostic est certes clinique, mais repose essentiellement sur l’exclusion d’une thrombopénie généralement inférieure à 50 000/mm3 et l’absence de signes clinico-biologiques en faveur d’une thrombopathie.Les étiologies du purpura vasculaire sont diverses, allant des causes infectieuses et médicamenteuses aux maladies auto-immunes et néoplasiques.En effet, le PV peut révéler de multiples affections de gravité différente, allant d’une atteinte cutanée isolée à une affection systémique engageant le pronostic vital. Par conséquent, une enquête étiologique minutieuse est indispensable devant tout PV afin de démarrer les traitements adéquats et d’améliorer le pronostic de la maladie causale.
