The purpose of any psychoanalytic inquiry can be summarized as the search for latent meaning in all the enigmatic aspects of human experience. This quest, which depends on uncovering the manifestations of the unconscious, inevitably involves identifying the transformative process that has led desire from its latent stage to its symbolic expression at the surface level of that experience. In a strictly literary context, an analysis of the work will help to unveil its mystery and break through its obscurity by delving into its innermost depths-the depths of its essence, which has become a sort of luminous well where the reflections of the various reasons that might justify both its manifest form and its very existence shimmer and originate. In this particular case, the psychoanalytic approach to Sony Labou Tansi’s novels allows us to examine the expression of the unconscious within the fabric of language by analyzing its various modes of manifestation. It also enables us to perceive and analyze how the author’s mystification has been constructed through clues within the work.
