Effective financing procedures of global public goods can only be found byexamining them in different policy fields. This allows identifying field specificand general attributes that determine the applicability and success of futuremethods. Previous research in global public goods either focuses on thetheoretical foundations or applies them to one specific field, but does notseek to answer the question why certain methods have more potential forone field than for another?. The book focuses on two major fields ofproviding global public goods - the environment and health - and exploresthe key attributes. Through a comparative analysis I investigate commonfeatures and differences in the driving forces, political decision-making,possible methods of producing goods and ways of creating consensus. Theresearch also identifies interdependencies across the levels of public goodprovision and between policy fields. The main findings include both universal(GPG-related) and sector specific conclusions. This book is primarily aimed atstudents and researchers in public policy, political, health and environmentalsciences, as well as policymakers.
