Les protocoles de routage intelligents sont devenus un dispositif important pour améliorer les performances du routage dans les réseaux mobiles ad hoc (MANET) et pour obtenir un fonctionnement efficace de ces réseaux en garantissant une découverte rapide des routes, une connectivité rapide, un faible délai et une faible surcharge. Cet ouvrage présente un nouveau dispositif pour le protocole de routage MANET, connu sous le nom de protocole de routage intelligent Ant sense (INTANTSENSE). Ce protocole utilise une étude du comportement des fourmis dans la nature, connue sous le nom d’optimisation des colonies de fourmis, pour effectuer des activités de routage optimales. Le concept de routage des fourmis est un nouveau système de routage inspiré du comportement des fourmis réelles utilisé dans cette étude. Le nouveau protocole (INTANTSENSE) a été conçu et simulé dans un environnement MANET réel sur un réseau personnel avec IEEE 802.15.4 WPAN. Après analyse, il affiche des performances satisfaisantes, à savoir un routage optimal, une découverte rapide des itinéraires et une gestion efficace des échecs de routage.
