Ce livre présente le multicanal avec une seule radio comme un nouveau paradigme pour la fonction coordonnée distribuée (DCF) de l’IEEE 802.11 dans les réseaux de capteurs sans fil (WSN). Traditionnellement, les réseaux de capteurs sans fil n’avaient pas besoin d’un débit élevé, mais avec l’évolution de la technologie, le streaming multimédia, la mobilité des nœuds de détection et le trafic de véhicules sont devenus la tendance pour la collecte de données de détection, d’où la nécessité d’un protocole à haut débit pour les réseaux de capteurs sans fil. Cet ouvrage se concentre sur la conception d’un algorithme qui applique le multicanal à l’algorithme DCF back-off de l’IEEE 802.11 afin de réduire le temps d’attente d’un nœud et d’augmenter le débit lorsqu’il tente d’accéder au support. Tout d’abord, les sous-couches MAC des protocoles IEEE 802.15.4 et IEEE 802.11 ont été étudiées pour faciliter la compréhension des schémas CSMA/CA 802.11 et 802.15.4. Les performances des deux ont été étudiées et évaluées à l’aide de résultats de simulation. Ensuite, l’algorithme MC-DCF backoff proposé pour l’accès multicanal basé sur les protocoles 802.11 DCF a été examiné. Cet algorithme permet aux nœuds d’avoir accès à plusieurs canaux qui ne se chevauchent pas en accédant aux canaux de manière dynamique par le biais d’une commutation de canal après qu’un seuil défini a été atteint.
