A discussão sobre a problemática da distorção idade e ano no Brasil se faz relevante, uma vez que influencia diretamente na qualidade do ensino. O Estado do Amazonas criou, no ano de 2005, o Projeto de Correção de Fluxo Avançar. Este livro apresenta um estudo sobre as dificuldades da equipe gestora de uma escola estadual localizada na zona norte da cidade de Manaus - Amazonas, na implementação e funcionamento do Projeto Avançar no período de 2010 a 2015.O estudo está atrelado à experiência da autora como gestora da escola, no ano de 2014, identificando problemas na instituição para a articulação do Projeto e, consequentemente, para o alcance de melhores resultados. Foram identificados alguns entraves na execução do Projeto na unidade de ensino, e diante disso, sugere-se um Plano Educacional com seis ações, visando à melhoria no desenvolvimento e resultados do Avançar, possibilitando novos direcionamentos no processo de implementação e execução desta política pelos gestores, a fim de corrigir o fluxo escolar e reduzir a distorção idade-ano na instituição. 10
