En 2012, la School of Information and Library Studies de l’University College Dublin et Aer Lingus se sont lancés dans un projet de collaboration visant à développer des archives numériques interactives hybrides pour le matériel d’Aer Lingus, notamment des photographies, des affiches, des magazines et des récits oraux. Une partie des archives numériques proposées par Aer Lingus est constituée d’un grand nombre de photographies non identifiées. L’objectif de ce livre est de faciliter le marquage et le commentaire de ces photographies par les utilisateurs afin d’identifier les sujets (c’est-à-dire les personnes et les événements) à des fins de navigation pour les futurs utilisateurs.
