Le soudage par friction-malaxage (FSW) est une méthode de soudage à l’état solide qui peut être utilisée sur des matériaux comparables et dissemblables. Cette technologie est fréquemment utilisée parce qu’elle produit des soudures de qualité et évite les problèmes courants tels que les fissures de solidification et de liquéfaction qui sont liés aux procédés de soudage par fusion. Le FSW de l’aluminium 5086 et de ses alliages a été commercialisé, et la connexion de matériaux dissemblables suscite un regain d’intérêt. Toutefois, avant de pouvoir commercialiser le procédé, des études de recherche doivent être menées pour décrire et définir les fenêtres du procédé.
