Les composites à matrice métallique (MMC) sont des matrices métalliques renforcées par une seconde phase qui peut être une céramique de différentes tailles. Les nanocomposites à matrice métallique (MMNC) sont ceux qui comportent des renforts de taille nanométrique. De nombreuses techniques de traitement ont été mises au point pour fabriquer des MMNC à l’échelle commerciale, notamment la technique semi-solide (compocasting) dans laquelle le mélange des nanoparticules de renforcement dans la matrice est facilité par la viscosité effective élevée de la suspension métallique. Les composites compocast assistés par EMS offrent une distribution uniforme des nanoparticules avec une résistance à l’usure supérieure concomitante. Ce livre traite de l’optimisation, de la fabrication et de la caractérisation des composites à matrice d’aluminium renforcés par des nanoparticules d’Al2O3. Un système d’inférence neuro-flou adaptatif combiné à une méthode d’optimisation par essaim particulaire peut être utilisé pour optimiser les paramètres du processus.
