I tensioattivi microbici sono materiali tensioattivi prodotti da microrganismi coltivati su substrati immiscibili o oleosi. Questa letteratura illustra l’applicazione e lo studio sperimentale sulla produzione di biosurfattanti e la loro caratterizzazione mediante analisi FTIR, in cui il ceppo Candida tropicalis MTCC 230 è stato adattato a diverse concentrazioni di idrocarburi (benzina, olio di cherosene e olio di soia). L’adattamento è avvenuto quando questo ceppo è stato adattato in serie con concentrazioni basse e alte di idrocarburi. Il miglior risultato dell’indice di emulsionamento è stato ottenuto quando la benzina e l’NH4Cl sono stati utilizzati rispettivamente come fonte di carbonio e di azoto. L’analisi dello spettro FTIR ha mostrato che il biosurfattante prodotto da Candida tropicalis MTCC 230 è un lipopeptide (tensioattivo) e ha mostrato il più alto indice di emulsionamento a pH 4 e salinità 6%. Il biosurfattante viene utilizzato per il recupero microbico potenziato del petrolio (MEOR) mediante la realizzazione di colonne di terreno, per recuperare il petrolio dal suolo.
