O estudo foi efectuado numa população idosa saudável, sem problemas ortopédicos ou neurológicos e capaz de andar de forma independente. O teste de levantar e andar cronometrado com uma restrição cognitiva foi o indicador mais específico e sensível de quedas. Este instrumento de avaliação de dupla tarefa pode ser utilizado na avaliação dos doentes e no seu tratamento, a fim de melhorar o equilíbrio e reduzir o risco de quedas.
