Um estudo realizado sobre a prevalência da força de preensão na população idosa que vive em Dehradun, Uttrakhand, Índia. Como sabemos, a trapezite é uma inflamação do músculo trapézio que envolve a síndrome da dor miofascial, que pode ser comumente encontrada na prática clínica. A prevalência dessa síndrome aumentou drasticamente nos últimos anos e é uma das principais causas de dor musculoesquelética. A força de preensão é recomendada como uma 'boa medida simples' da força muscular. A força de preensão pode ser um marcador de atividade física, que por si só preserva a função e previne a incapacidade. O objetivo deste estudo foi descrever a força de preensão e suas associações transversais com características clínicas entre homens e mulheres idosos que sofrem de trapezite.
