I have teamed up with Chat GPT language Model to provide a detailed analysis of American Trade Policy and its over time evolution while specifically discussing the trade war between United States of America and China. The trade war between these major economic players would start in 2018 under the first Trump Administration and it would duly be continued by Biden Administration. However, for his second term that has started in January 2025, President Donald J. Trump has mentioned that United States of America is going to pursue yet more rigorous protectionist trade policy where he is talking about imposing tariffs on imports from key American allies including India. Well, the media pundits and policy makers largely disagree with imposition of tariffs on major economies that export to United States of America. The book tells the probable story behind the protectionist trading regime that is representing second term for President Trump. It is highly probable that Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act has successfully built a high-tech manufacturing industry domestically and there for United States is aiming to increase its exports to Europe and Asia. Particularly East Asia and some of the high performing developing countries like India may be a great destination of high technology value added exports from United States. Well, another possibility is presented in the book that maybe Trump Administration by imposing tariffs on its major trading partners would practice influence in future when within a year or two, the American Manufacturing Sector would be producing new technologies representing many consumer products like electronics and automobiles and therefore partner countries would have to decrease their tariffs on American exports to then find a fair trading regime where Trump Administration would also lower the tariff rates. The only risk in this protectionist trade policy is that economic competition can be translated into foreign policy outcomes where United States of American and China can be engulfed into armed conflict while as of now, the trade war only represents diplomatic protests. Therefore, the book provides a New World Order where regional supply chains are developed and therefore create a web of business clusters that promote international exchange of goods and services while international trade would be causing increased domestic manufacturing capacity of countries like Pakistan that can utilize their friendly relationship with both China and United States of America. Indeed, new cooperative theory needs to be developed that would substantiate protectionism as the second-best strategy towards globalization while export orientation would still be sustained by increasing the middle class in China, India and other destinations representing regions like Africa and Latin America. Therefore, development policy would be central to New World Order that would create economic value through finding innovative market solutions that can meaningfully utilize cultural values in traditional societies to create one of the most comprehensive poverty reduction strategies in developing countries and thereby improving the global consumer base.
