Os preconceitos moldam o mundo tal como as pessoas o vêem. No entanto, a investigação sobre preconceitos é uma disciplina muito recente. Os meios de comunicação social, como a televisão, desempenham um papel importante na transmissão de valores e normas numa sociedade mediática e informativa. No entanto, é frequente encontrar na televisão representações estereotipadas e preconceituosas de pessoas (ou grupos de pessoas). Como não é particularmente fácil identificar imediatamente qualquer tipo de estereótipo e preconceito e, consequentemente, evitá-los, seria vantajoso um formato autorreflexivo e crítico que revelasse e questionasse profissionalmente os preconceitos comuns. No âmbito deste trabalho, foi desenvolvido um conceito para um programa de televisão chamado Aufgeklärt (Esclarecido), que investiga os preconceitos.
