Było to badanie jakościowe, w którym wzięło udział 15 lekarzy w okresie od stycznia do marca 2013 r., z wykorzystaniem częściowo ustrukturyzowanych wywiadów. Zastosowano technikę tematycznej analizy treści. Bycie preceptorem oznacza przekazywanie wiedzy i branie odpowiedzialności za szkolenie zawodowe. Najczęściej wymienianymi czynnościami były dyskusje na temat przypadków klinicznych i chirurgicznych. Preceptoring ma fundamentalne znaczenie dla procesu nauczania-uczenia się i przyczynił się do kontynuowania nauki przez preceptora. Udogodnienia obejmowały dobre relacje wielozawodowe, zainteresowanie studentów i dobre szkolenie teoretyczne; trudności obejmowały brak infrastruktury i czasu, słabą komunikację między nauczycielami i preceptorami oraz brak szkoleń.
