In diesem Band werden die aktuellen rechtlichen Vorgaben im Bereich des Grundwasser- und Bodenschutzes von der europäischen Ebene bis zu den länderrechtlichen Regelungen vorgestellt. Einer der Schwerpunkte ist das neue Bundesbodenschutzgesetz, das am 1.3.1999 in Kraft tritt. Es werden sowohl altlastenrelevante Fragestellungen als auch die Umsetzung der Regelungen auf kommunaler Ebene aufgegriffen. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt beim Grundwasserschutz. Hier wird die EU-Grundwasserrichtlinie ebenso thematisiert wie die 6. Novelle des Wasserhaushaltsgesetzes und der Umgang mit wassergefährdenden Stoffen. Weitere Beiträge befassen sich mit Maßnahmen zum naturnahen Umgang mit Niederschlagswasser und mit der Entwicklung der Fließwasserbeschaffenheit auf Bundeslandebene.
