Le traitement inadéquat de la douleur chez les patients qui ne peuvent plus communiquer est un problème majeur dans les maisons de retraite et les établissements médico-sociaux. Les outils d’évaluation externe de la douleur peuvent contribuer de manière significative à faciliter le quotidien du personnel soignant. Cependant, ils doivent être faciles à utiliser pour pouvoir être mis en œuvre. Dans le cadre de ce travail, trois instruments d’évaluation externe, BESD, BISAD et ZOPA, ont été testés à l’aide d’une enquête empirique. À cette fin, un échantillon de n = 157, composé d’aides-soignants et d’infirmiers diplômés, a été interrogé au moyen d’un questionnaire sur la praticabilité.
