Porównywanie odcisków palców jest szeroko stosowanym systemem uwierzytelniania biometrycznego, opartym na założeniu, że każda osoba na świecie ma swój własny odcisk palca. Każdy odcisk palca ma swoje uniwersalne i niepowtarzalne cechy oraz jest powszechnie akceptowany. Wspomnieliśmy, że każdy odcisk palca powstaje w łonie matki w 17. tygodniu życia płodu i pozostaje niezmieniony przez całe życie. W naszym badaniu staraliśmy się znaleźć różnicę między wprowadzonymi odciskami palców, opierając się na koncepcji niepowtarzalności odcisków palców. Do eksperymentu wykorzystaliśmy koncepcję porównywania dowolnych dwóch odcisków palców z czasopisma internetowego [8]. Zauważyliśmy, że omówiono tam wprowadzanie odcisków palców, wyrównanie histogramu w celu poprawy jakości odcisków palców, binaryzację, segmentację obrazu (szacowanie kierunku bloku i ekstrakcja ROI) oraz usuwanie fałszywych minucji, dopasowywanie minucji (etap wyrównywania i etap dopasowywania). Następnie wspomnieliśmy o wyjątkowej koncepcji, zgodnie z którą każdy obraz ma swoją własną macierz, która pomaga znaleźć różnice między wprowadzonymi obrazami odcisków palców.
