A análise dos dados recolhidos no âmbito deste estudo e a utilização dos dados financeiros do mercado CIMA permitiram-nos fazer as seguintes constatações: os rendimentos dos investimentos são baixos, existe um excesso de liquidez, os investimentos não são suficientemente diversificados e concentram-se muito mais nos depósitos bancários e nos títulos (55% do total dos investimentos), etc. Perante estas diferentes constatações, pareceu-nos interessante efetuar uma investigação aplicada sobre a política de investimento e os resultados financeiros das companhias de seguros, sob os constrangimentos do ambiente CIMA. Este estudo evidenciou as razões da fraca rendibilidade dos investimentos e, através de uma análise num único local, demonstrou o impacto significativo da política de investimentos no desempenho financeiro das companhias de seguros. Ao analisar os dados financeiros, as estratégias de investimento, a estrutura de investimento das companhias de seguros no mercado CIMA e os dados recolhidos junto das companhias de seguros nos Camarões, verificámos que as escolhas de investimento desempenham um papel crucial.
