W niniejszym badaniu podziw definiuje się jako intensywne i głębokie uczucie, które często wywołuje estetyka i któremu zazwyczaj towarzyszy uczucie dreszczy i gęsiej skórki. Kto odczuwa podziw w reakcji na muzykę i dlaczego? Aby odpowiedzieć na te pytania, badani opisywali swoje doświadczenia związane z podziwem w reakcji na muzykę. Dodatkowo zbadano, czy ich odczucia odpowiadają pomiarom fizjologicznym. Badaniem objęto 36 niemieckich studentów. Uczestnicy wysłuchali fragmentów ośmiu różnych utworów muzycznych i opisali swoje doświadczenia w kwestionariuszu, podczas gdy mierzono ich aktywność elektrodermalną (EDA). Dodatkowo oceniono cechę osobowościową otwartość na doświadczenia, ponieważ badania sugerują, że stanowi ona warunek wstępny do doświadczenia podziwu. Wyniki pokazują, że istnieje silny związek między podziwem a cechą osobowości otwartością na doświadczenia, gustem muzycznym uczestników, znajomością utworów i tendencją do internalizowania pozytywnych nastrojów. Osobiste doświadczenia i pomiary EDA nie były ze sobą zgodne.
