Este libro representa un homenaje del Instituto de Estudios Urbanos y Territoriales y de la Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Estudios Urbanos de la PUC a Guillermo Geisse Grove.En la «Introducción» se presentan distintas miradas sobre Guillermo Geisse Grove y su trabajo interdisciplinario en el campo del urbanismo y del medio ambiente. Escriben personas que trabajaron con él en distintas etapas de su vida y que también fueron sus amigos.La primera sección del libro se enfoca en su época en el CIDU y su aporte a la planificación urbana y los estudios regionales en Chile.La segunda sección se enfoca en su época en el CIPMA y su aporte a lo que él llamó un «crecimiento económico sustentable e inclusivo». Aquí se reúnen artículos y editoriales que escribió para la revista Ambiente y Desarrollo, que él mismo fundó en 1984. También se seleccionaron algunos textos que concibió para cada uno de los ocho Encuentros Científicos del Medio Ambiente.Son editores de este libro su hijo Guillermo Geisse Valenzuela, Luis Fuentes Arce, director del Instituto de Estudios Urbanos y Territoriales de la PUC, y María Isabel Kornfeld, alumna y ayudante en el CIPMA. Dada la amplitud y alcance de la producción intelectual de Guillermo Geisse, mucho material ha tenido que ser excluido, por lo cual los editores asumen la responsabilidad de esta pequeña selección.
