Questo studio ha valutato il profilo chimico, l’attività antiossidante e antinfiammatoria, in modo inedito, della nanoemulsione dell’olio essenziale incrociato (NOE) di Syzygium aromaticum x Pimenta dioica. Il principale costituente identificato dalla GC-MS-FID EO è stato l’eugenolo (78,64%). Per quanto riguarda l’attività antiossidante, sono stati ottenuti valori di IC 50 pari a 0,5400 mg/ mL; 0,2180 mg/ mL e 0,0100 mg/ mL per l’EO mediante i saggi DPPH, ABTS e FRAP, rispettivamente, e IC 50 0,0200 mg/ mL; 0,0230 mg/ mL e 0,0002 mg/ mL per il NOE, rispettivamente. Gli IC 50 quantificati sono stati classificati come molto attivi. L’IC 50 per l’attività antinfiammatoria era di 30,77 mg /L. Pertanto, questo studio ha portato a risultati senza precedenti per il NEO da S. aromaticum x P. dioica, per l’attività antiossidante, risultante da basse concentrazioni che corroborano l’I50 osservato per l’azione antinfiammatoria.
