Il santuario di Amba Barwa, nella catena montuosa Satpuda del Maharashtra, è stato oggetto di frequenti rilevamenti in tutte le stagioni dell’anno per la raccolta di piante importanti dal punto di vista medicinale. Le piante medicinali sono state selezionate sulla base di discussioni con i guaritori tradizionali del santuario di Amba Barwa, nel distretto di Buldana. Lo scopo era quello di stabilire informazioni folcloristiche tradizionali sulle piante medicinali attraverso esperimenti scientifici reali. Ciò ha portato alla valutazione scientifica delle piante del santuario di Amba-Barwa come fonte di potenziali agenti chemioterapici, sulla base del loro uso etnomedicinale contro le infezioni batteriche. L’analisi delle sostanze antibatteriche e fitochimiche presenti nelle piante medicinali fornisce una visione approfondita dell’efficacia medicinale delle piante, e la comprensione di come e perché sono efficaci può portare allo sviluppo di nuovi farmaci. Il presente libro sarà utile per i ricercatori nel campo dell’etnobotanica e della fitochimica.
