Il Marocco sta attualmente vivendo una diffusa epidemia di morbillo e le piante medicinali possono rappresentare un’importante risorsa terapeutica per molte popolazioni. Lo scopo di questo studio è esplorare l’uso delle piante medicinali nel trattamento del morbillo nella città di Fez. I dati sono stati raccolti utilizzando questionari strutturati somministrati durante interviste faccia a faccia con gli erboristi. Un totale di 100 erboristi ha accettato di partecipare. Gli erboristi hanno riferito l’uso di 39 piante appartenenti a 36 generi e 22 famiglie nel trattamento del morbillo. Le parti più comunemente utilizzate sono i semi e i metodi di preparazione prevalenti sono la polvere e l’infuso. Questo studio evidenzia l’esistenza di conoscenze etnomediche locali relative alle piante utilizzate per il trattamento del morbillo nella regione di Fès. Le piante identificate potrebbero costituire una base per future ricerche scientifiche.
