Peter Pan es un niño que se niega a crecer y sólo desea divertirse, puede volar y vive en el País de Nunca Jamás, una isla poblada por piratas, indios, hadas y sirenas, y en donde vive fantásticas aventuras con sus amigos, los niños perdidos, y con el capitán Garfio, quien lo detesta porque Peter le arrojó su mano derecha a un cocodrilo y por ello ahora él usa un garfio. Wendy, Michael y John son tres hermanos que viven con sus padres, Mary y George, y su perra Nana en las afueras de Londres. Sin embargo, ante una aventura, los niños son capaces de abandonar a sus seres queridos, como ellos lo hacen cuando huyen de su casa al País de Nunca Jamás, invitados por Peter Pan, o cuando los niños perdidos dejan a su líder Peter para irse con Wendy y sus hermanos a Londres.
