Em termos gerais, a perceção de segurança reflecte as diferenças entre quem governa e quem é governado quando os media divulgam a liderança do Estado na prevenção do crime e na administração da justiça. Neste sentido, o objetivo deste trabalho é estabelecer um modelo para o estudo deste fenómeno. A partir de uma pesquisa documental com uma seleção de fontes indexadas em repositórios nacionais, considerando o período de publicação de 1974 a 2017, bem como a inclusão de palavras-chave, especificou-se o modelo, mas linhas de investigação relativas à busca, processamento e modelação da informação, alargando a pesquisa à privação relativa, à anomia social ou à dissuasão normativa.
