Idealmente, a restauração deve entrar em contacto com todos os componentes do implante simultaneamente e de forma uniforme, sem necessidade de força durante a colocação.A obtenção de uma adaptação passiva é fundamental, uma vez que o desajuste pode levar a complicações mecânicas (afrouxamento do parafuso, fratura) e biológicas (perda óssea, inflamação peri-implantar). As impressões exactas, o fabrico preciso da estrutura e os procedimentos de verificação adequados são essenciais para garantir um ajuste passivo e o sucesso do implante a longo prazo.
