Peu d’études dans le monde et en Tunisie se sont intéressées à l’infection au SARS-CoV-2 chez les sujets âgés. L’objectif de notre travail était de déterminer les particularités cliniques, paracliniques et évolutives de l’infection liée au SARS-CoV-2 chez des patients âgés tunisiens. Nous avons mené une étude monocentrique, rétrospective et descriptive ayant colligé des patients hospitalisés à l’unité Covid d’un service de médecine interne tunisien durant la période allant du 1er février au 31 Juillet 2021. Nous avons comparé les particularités cliniques paracliniques et évolutives des deux groupes de patients définis selon l’âge: G1 patients âgés de 70 ans et plus; G2: patients âgés de moins de 70 ans. L’infection liée au SARS-CoV-2 chez nos sujets âgés était caractérisée par une présentation clinique atypique et sévère. Repérer les facteurs prédictifs de sévérité de la pneumopathie liée au SARS-CoV-2 chez le sujet âge semble donc être impératif afin d’établir une conduite thérapeutique adaptée prévenant l’évolution néfaste.
