Este libro no es de carácter estrictamente biográfico en forma clásica, pues es más el pretexto de biografía de Pancho Villa, para resaltar y rescatar el fenómeno social que representó esa Primera Gran revolución del siglo XX. Inicia la obra con consideraciones generales, para situar al lector en el contexto de la época en su tiempo y espacio. Retoma cuestiones características de la revolución poco tratadas por otros escritores, pretende en todo momento dar la versión que recorre al país en la 'otra' historia. Así da también énfasis a los cantares del pueblo; y al tradicional corrido mexicano, en su propio análisis como figura literaria. Luego nos lleva a otro aspecto poco tratado de Villa, su pensamiento político social y sus aportaciones que fueron muy significativas. Asimismo la conclusión necesaria a la forma del desarrollo y trato de la obra; lo social, representado en la síntesis de la comunicación, pensamiento, sentimiento y pasión del pueblo en el vocabulario Villista, una aportación surgida desde la retaguardia de la gran División del Norte, en el proceso de esa Gran Revolución Social, primera en el siglo XX. A cien años de su inicio.
