The Pain Truth by Dr. Bahram Jam, PTWhat is pain? Why do people feel it? Where exactly does it come from? Most importantly, how can chronic pain be completely eliminated or at least reduced? These are questions Dr. Bahram Jam is asked hundreds if not thousands of times every year as people turn to him for help in treating their various pains.Dr. Jam entered the field of Physiotherapy with the goal of helping people overcome and heal from chronic pain. While treating patients in his office, he wanted to find a way to help others by offering easy to follow guides on how to gain a bit of relief from wherever they were. With that in mind, he put pen to paper and created The Pain Truth Program. The sole purpose of this easy-to-read book is to help those with persistent and unexplained pain to feel more in control and optimistic about once again regaining their former quality of life. For more information about The Pain Truth Program, visit www.thepaintruth.org.Understanding the Role of the Vagus Nerve in Trauma by Tashmeen Khimani Lalani, BA, RMT, CoachTashmeen Khimani Lalani was in an auto accident that left her with debilitating pain, both physical and mental. Experiencing symptoms of PTSD in addition to physical injuries, Tashmeen was forced to take months off from her career as a Registered Massage Therapist to focus on healing. She began studying anything and everything related to how the brain functions and the body’s reactions to various triggers, such as fear and pain. After multiple sessions of physiotherapy and psychological therapy, Tashmeen is overcoming the crippling physical and psychological pain that held her back from continuing what was a very productive life. Through her recovery and thirst for knowledge in relation to the Vagus nerve, Tashmeen has decided to share her experiences and what she’s learned about the Vagus nerve, its function, and ways to calm it when stresses of life or memories of the accident come back to haunt her. She has successfully pivoted her limitations and returned to her massage therapy practice. She has also created a website to allow others to benefit from professionals in the fields of Trauma, Psychology, and Physiology while they too strive to put their lives back together. For more information about Body Makes Sense, Inc., visit www.bodymakessense.com.
