Prosta, niedroga, szybka i bardziej czuła metoda spektrofotometryczna do oznaczania kaptoprylu w produktach farmaceutycznych. Procedura opierała się na utlenianiu kaptoprylu znaną nadmiarową ilością roztworu bromu w środowisku kwaśnym. Roztwór bromu w środowisku kwaśnym wybiela barwnik metyloczerwony. Znany nadmiar bromu w środowisku kwaśnym poddanym działaniu kaptoprylu jest redukowany do bromu, a nieprzereagowany brom pozostający w roztworze jest odbarwiany przez barwnik metyloczerwony. Barwniki wykazały maksymalną absorpcję przy 515 nm. Prawo Beera było spełnione w zakresie stężeń 0,2-2,0 μg mL-1 przy granicach wykrywalności 0,008 μg mL-1 . Molowa absorpcja i współczynniki korelacji (r) wynosiły 1,63x105 l/mol.cm, 0,9995 dla metody wsadowej. Wykres kalibracyjny sporządzony dla metody FI był zgodny z prawem Beera w zakresie stężeń (1-5 μg ml-1) z granicą wykrywalności 0,25 μg ml-1, molową absorpcją 2,3x104 l/mol.cm, współczynnikiem korelacji (r) 0,999 i częstotliwością pobierania próbek 128 oznaczeń na godzinę.
