Metodi spettrofotometrici semplici, economici, rapidi e più sensibili per la determinazione del captopril in prodotti farmaceutici mediante iniezione in batch e in flusso. La procedura si basa sull’ossidazione del captopril con una soluzione di bromo in eccesso nota in mezzo acido. La soluzione di bromo in mezzo acido decolora il colorante rosso metile. Un eccesso noto di bromo in mezzo acido trattato con captopril viene ridotto a bromo, mentre il bromo non reagito che rimane viene decolorato dal colorante rosso metile. I coloranti hanno mostrato il massimo assorbimento a 515 nm. La legge di Beer è stata rispettata negli intervalli di concentrazione 0,2-2,0 μg mL-1 con limiti di rilevabilità 0,008 μg mL-1 . L’assorbimento molare e i coefficienti di correlazione (r) erano 1,63x105 l/mol.cm, 0,9995 per il metodo in batch. Il grafico di calibrazione costruito per il metodo FI ha rispettato la legge di Beer nell’intervallo di concentrazione (1-5 μg mL-1) con un limite di rilevabilità di 0,25 μg mL-1, assorbimento molare 2,3x104 l/mol.cm, coefficiente di correlazione (r) 0,999 e frequenza di campionamento 128 determinazioni all’ora.
