A tecnologia de fabrico tem o papel principal no desenvolvimento de produtos. Para assegurar posições competitivas no desenvolvimento de produtos, a rugosidade da superfície é um critério importante. A rugosidade da superfície é uma combinação de irregularidades mais finas sobre superfícies maquinadas devido à ação inerente dos processos de produção. Por conseguinte, a rugosidade da superfície tem grande influência no funcionamento correto das peças maquinadas, o que melhora a vida útil, a resistência à fadiga, a resistência à corrosão e a resistência ao desgaste e à abrasão. Este relatório destacou os processos de fabrico de furos e centrou-se principalmente na operação de perfuração. Este trabalho tem como objetivo proporcionar um melhor acabamento superficial e otimizar os parâmetros de maquinabilidade para produzir buchas de pino-rei de alta qualidade. A combinação dos parâmetros óptimos de maquinabilidade é determinada pela técnica RSM. A RSM é uma das técnicas de projeto de experimentos (DOE) mais promissoras, uma ferramenta analítica e estatística que fornece o modelo matemático quadrático para os parâmetros de resposta.
