W niniejszym badaniu włókna lniane i konopne zostały ocenione jako surowce do produkcji włóknin typu air-laying. W związku z tym stawiamy hipotezę, że dzięki odpowiednim procesom produkcyjnym można znacznie poprawić konkurencyjność włóknin na bazie włókien lnianych i konopnych. Przewidujemy poprawę właściwości materiału poprzez dostosowanie efektywnych ustawień maszyny, do czego wykorzystaliśmy małą maszynę do układania włóknin w powietrzu i oceniliśmy jakość runa włókiennego poprzez dostosowanie prędkości produkcji i parametrów związanych z kolcami. Przetwarzanie badano dla włóknin układanych powietrzem z naturalnych włókien konopnych i lnianych przy użyciu technologii układania powietrzem SPIKE® (Formfiber Denmark ApS Company). Oceniono proces formowania wstęgi i właściwości wstęgi włókien przed igłowaniem oraz wzmocnione maty włókniste. Stwierdzono, że ustawienia maszyny do układania w powietrzu mają wpływ na proces formowania wstęgi i właściwości włókniny. W celu monitorowania procesów formowania wstęgi i oceny jakości wstęgi lub maty włóknistej zdefiniowano kilka ustawień maszyny, które zwiększały wydajność maszyny lub sprzyjały wytwarzaniu włóknin o dużej gęstości lub doskonałych właściwościach rozciągających.
