Une torche à plasma haute puissance (200 KWT) conçue au Centre for Advanced Coating Technologies (CACT) de l’Université de Toronto à des fins de traitement thermique des déchets est proposée pour être utilisée dans un processus de projection plasma à haut volume. La torche à plasma existante doit être modifiée afin de permettre l’alimentation en matière première dans le jet de plasma. Une série d’expériences a été menée afin de vérifier si la torche est adaptée à la projection plasma.
