Dit boekje gaat over geld en ons geldsysteem. Het beschrijft het huidige systeem, hoe het ons belemmert in de aanpak van onze economische, sociale en ecologische problemen, en wat we daaraan kunnen doen. Het streven van dit boekje om bij te dragen aan de totstandkoming van een nieuw geldsysteem past in een reeks initiatieven om het huidige geldsysteem ter discussie te stellen en te vervangen door een nieuw systeem. In Nederland gebeurt dat onder meer door de Stichting Ons Geld, maar ook in bijvoorbeeld Engeland en de Verenigde Staten zijn er groepen en organisaties mee bezig. Er is echter nog een lange weg te gaan voordat de discussie over het huidige geldsysteem en een beter alternatief echt op de politieke en publieke agenda staat. Dit boekje hoopt daaraan bij te dragen, niet alleen vanwege de onrechtvaardigheden van het huidige systeem maar vooral ook omdat verandering van het systeem essentieel is voor de aanpak van onze ecologische, sociale en economische problemen.
