Este estudo examina a cobertura e a divulgação de notícias sobre desenvolvimento relacionadas com os Objectivos de Desenvolvimento do Milénio (ODM) nos jornais nigerianos de 2015 a 2019. A investigação avalia até que ponto os principais jornais nigerianos representaram questões relacionadas com os ODM, o enquadramento de tais notícias e a qualidade geral das reportagens sobre iniciativas de desenvolvimento durante o período de tempo especificado. Utilizando uma abordagem de análise de conteúdo, uma amostra de artigos de jornal foi sistematicamente analisada para identificar tendências, padrões e lacunas na representação dos ODM nos media. As conclusões revelam os diferentes graus de atenção dada aos ODM nos diferentes jornais, com algumas publicações a demonstrarem uma abordagem mais abrangente e matizada do que outras no que respeita à reportagem sobre questões de desenvolvimento. São apresentadas recomendações para jornalistas, organizações de media e decisores políticos para melhorar a qualidade e o alcance da cobertura noticiosa sobre desenvolvimento nos jornais nigerianos.
