This is the fourth volume of Noble Character, and stresses the importance of applying certain Qur’anic characteristics in our character and behavior. We should obey God’s orders, and seek the means to get close to Him, seeking his forgiveness, mercy and guidance. We praise God because of his many blessings, and try to share his blessings with others. We will be tested and tried in our life and we should learn patient perseverance. We should be compassionate and help those who need our help and visit the sick, and give in charity. Our Faith should be based on proper knowledge and understanding, and we should avoid extremes in religion, and not ask anyone to do more than they are capable of, and make life easier rather than difficult. At the same time, we should avoid bad characters like lying, back-biting or spreading rumors. Following our vain desires will make us easy prey for Satan and deprive us from God’s guidance. Every person is free to choose and practice his faith without oppression. Muslims should not force others to become Muslims against their will. Jihad in Islam is to control our vain desires, obey God and correct misconceptions about our faith, the Qur’an or the Prophet. Fighting is allowed to defend ourselves against aggression and not for personal reasons.
