Целью данного исследования было оценить функцию интенсивности-длительности-частоты (IDF) экстремальных дождевых явлений, используя данные о количестве осадков с дождеприемных станций, установленных в штате Рондония, чтобы впоследствии использовать эту информацию для проектирования гидротехнических сооружений. Мы использовали 41 станцию осадков с историческими сериями за более чем 10 лет, предоставленными Национальным агентством водных ресурсов (ANA). Было установлено, что уравнения, полученные в ходе данного исследования, имеют широкое применение в гидрологических работах и мероприятиях благодаря диапазону используемых интервалов. Кроме того, анализ и статистические тесты показали, что данное выражение пригодно для использования. Использованные исторические ряды показали, что среднее максимальное 'однодневное' количество осадков в штате Рондония варьировалось от 71,341 до 173,542 мм/сут. Кроме того, было отмечено, что возможные климатические явления, такие как Эль-Ниньо и Ла-Нинья в анализируемом регионе, могли привести к уменьшению и увеличению количества экстремальных осадков, соответственно.
