В исследовании использовался качественный метод изучения конкретных ситуаций. ИТ-менеджеры были опрошены с целью изучения недавно появившейся темы BYOD и ее последствий для ИТ-безопасности. Наиболее важными вопросами информационной безопасности являются политики безопасности, осведомленность и обучение пользователей BYOD, применение организационных политик безопасности, эффективность менеджеров в защите данных, а также принятие и соблюдение пользователями политик безопасности BYOD. В то время как BYOD нравится многим пользователям и предлагает множество преимуществ, большинство менеджеров по информационной безопасности его не одобряют.
