Цель данного исследования - проанализировать динамику цен на базовую продовольственную корзину в городе Жируа, расположенном в регионе Миссисия штата Риу-Гранди-ду-Сул, в период с августа по ноябрь 2010 года, сравнить их с ценами в других городах региона и в Сан-Паулу/СП, сравнить их с национальной минимальной заработной платой, а также проанализировать падение или рост цен и определить факторы, ответственные за них. Для проведения исследования были проведены ежемесячные исследования цен в супермаркете на 31 продукт, входящий в Национальную базовую продовольственную корзину, составленную компанией Procon в Сан-Паулу, на основе потребления стандартной семьи Сан-Паулу. Теоретические подходы, использованные при проведении исследования, охватывают такие темы, как: концепция базовой корзины, политика в области продовольствия и питания в Бразилии, потребление продуктов питания в Бразилии после реализации плана 'Реал', минимальная заработная плата, потребности покупателей и вариации рынка.
