In dieser Arbeit wurde ein neuartiges Verfahren zur Objekterkennung in Szenen mit komplexem Hintergrund vorgeschlagen, wobei die verwendeten Eingangsvideos feste Hintergründe und statische Kameras aufweisen. Zunächst wird der Median einiger Bilder ausgewertet, um eine korrekte Schätzung des Hintergrunds zu erhalten.Lokale schwellenwertbasierte Hintergrundsubtraktion wird durchgeführt, um Objekte aus der Videosequenz zu extrahieren.Bei plötzlichen Beleuchtungsänderungen wird die optische Abflussanalyse für die Bewegungssegmentierung verwendet.Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass sich das Objekt während photometrischer Verzerrungen in Bewegung befindet.Anschließend wird das resultierende schwellenwertbasierte Bild auf Schattenerkennung und -unterdrückung untersucht. Für die Schattenunterdrückung wird das HSV-Farbraummodell (Hue Saturation Value) verwendet, und die Leistung des Algorithmus lässt sich anhand visueller Maße ablesen.
