DavidHoffmann stellt die Synthese der ersten Niobtetrelylidinkomplexe des Germaniumsund Zinns durch effiziente Salzmetathesereaktion vor. Beide Verbindungen wurdenvom Autor IR- und Multikern‑NMR‑spektroskopisch charakterisiert und ihreMolekülstruktur im Festkörper durch Röntgenstrahlenbeugung am Einkristallaufgeklärt und diskutiert. Beide Strukturen weisen einen sehr kurzenTetrel-Niob-Bindungsabstand und ein fast linear koordiniertes Tetrelatom auf. DieReaktivität des Niobgermylidinkomplexes gegenüber kleinen polaren Molekülen wurdeanhand der Reaktionen mit Methanol und Wasser geprüft und die Redoxeigenschaftenmittels cyclovoltammetrischer Messungen untersucht.
