Questo lavoro si basa su un’indagine e una revisione bibliografica, che cerca di identificare le principali sfide affrontate dai contabili dei comuni della regione Vale do Rio Doce, nello Stato di Minas Gerais, nell’implementazione dei nuovi principi contabili applicati al settore pubblico (NBCASP), in linea con gli standard internazionali. A tal fine, sono state condotte interviste con i commercialisti di alcune città della regione, facilitando la discussione sull’argomento, a vantaggio della ricerca di una diagnosi del problema presentato e della consapevolezza che le principali sfide possono essere, ad esempio, la mancanza di qualifiche professionali, la resistenza da parte dei professionisti coinvolti nel processo, le dimensioni culturali, tra le altre.
